Connect Cloudflare to Codex
To use Cloudflare in Codex, connect your Cloudflare account in Manyplug and add Manyplug to Codex once. Codex then gets 7 Cloudflare tools, for example: “Zones”, “DNS records”, and “Add a record”. It takes about 4 minutes and works on the free plan.
Connect Cloudflare Free plan, no card
1. Connect Cloudflare in Manyplug
Click “Connect Cloudflare” and paste the key or app password into Manyplug’s form:
A Cloudflare API token with the right permissions. Takes about two minutes.
- Open Cloudflare → My Profile → API Tokens and click Create Token.Open Cloudflare API tokens
- Use the Edit zone DNS template. Add Zone → Cache Purge → Purge if the AI may purge the cache.
- Under Zone Resources pick all zones or specific domains, then Continue to summary → Create Token.
- Copy the token (it is shown once) and paste it into the form.
- Do not use the Global API Key: a token with limited permissions is safer.
- The AI changes or deletes DNS records only after you confirm.
2. Add Manyplug to Codex
Codex CLI and the IDE extension.
- Add the server to ~/.codex/config.toml.
[mcp_servers.manyplug] url = "https://manyplug.com/mcp" - Run codex mcp login manyplug and sign in in the browser.
3. Ask Codex
- Which DNS records does acme.com have in Cloudflare?
- Add a CNAME docs.acme.com pointing to acme.github.io, not proxied.
- Purge the cache for https://acme.com/pricing.
- Does the domain have SPF and DMARC records?

Questions
Can I connect two Cloudflare accounts to Codex?
Yes. Connect each one in Manyplug under its own name, for example Work and Personal. Codex can use one of them or all at once.
Will Codex change anything in Cloudflare without asking?
By default these actions wait for your approval before they run: “Change a record”, “Delete a record”, and “Purge all cache”. Other changes follow your rules, which you can make stricter per account.
Do I need an official Cloudflare MCP server for this?
No. Manyplug connects to Cloudflare itself with a key or app password you paste into its form, and gives Codex the tools through one MCP address, together with your other services.
Is it free to connect Codex to Manyplug?
Yes. New workspaces get 14 days of Pro free, then the free plan keeps going with 150 actions a month and up to 3 connected accounts. No card needed. Paid plans start at $5 a month.
Does Codex see my passwords or API keys?
No. Keys are entered on Manyplug’s own pages, stored encrypted with a separate key per account, and the AI only receives tool results.
