A weekly engineering update, written by AI from real activity

Ask “Write this week’s update for the team.” The AI lists merged and open pull requests in GitHub or GitLab, issues closed and opened in Linear or Jira, and the Slack threads where decisions were made, then writes a short update with links. Posting it to Slack waits for your approval by default.

Ask your AI

  • Write a weekly update: merged PRs, issues closed, what is blocked. Link everything. Keep it under 200 words.
  • What did I work on this week? Use my PRs, issue comments and Slack messages.
  • Which open pull requests have been waiting for review for more than three days?
  • Post the update to #engineering once I say it looks good.

What happens

  1. The AI lists pull requests and searches issues for the week in each connected repository host and tracker.
  2. It searches Slack for threads in the channels you name to pick up decisions and blockers.
  3. It writes the update in the chat first. Sending a Slack message is marked risky, so posting waits for your OK.

Set it up

  1. Connect your accounts. Sign up and connect the services you use from the list below, or ask the AI for a link.
  2. Add Manyplug to your AI app. Paste the Manyplug address into Claude, ChatGPT, Cursor or another MCP client; each guide below has the steps.
  3. Ask. Copy one of the requests above into a new chat.

Tips

  • Connect a work and a personal GitHub account side by side; name them and say which one the report is about.
  • In Cursor or Claude Code the same tools sit next to your code, so “open an issue for this TODO” works mid-task.

Questions

Does it need admin access to GitHub or Slack?
No. It sees what your own account can see.
Can it post without asking?
Not by default. You can allow Slack messages without approval for a specific account if you want to.
