Connect VS Code to your services
VS Code uses MCP servers in GitHub Copilot’s agent mode. Click “Install in VS Code” or add the server to mcp.json, sign in to Manyplug when VS Code asks, and Copilot can use all your connected accounts.
What you need
- VS Code with GitHub Copilot (agent mode).
- A Manyplug account (free, sign in with Google).
Steps
- Click “Install in VS Code” or add the server to .vscode/mcp.json.
{ "servers": { "manyplug": { "type": "http", "url": "https://manyplug.com/mcp" } } } - Start the server in the MCP list and sign in when VS Code asks.
Check that it works
In a new chat, ask VS Code: “Which accounts can you use in Manyplug?” It should name the accounts you connected.
If something goes wrong
Copilot does not show Manyplug tools
Switch the chat to Agent mode and open the tools picker: manyplug must be checked. Run “MCP: List Servers” from the command palette to start or restart it.
VS Code keeps asking to sign in
Run “MCP: List Servers”, pick manyplug and restart it, then finish the sign-in in the browser window it opens.
Services VS Code can use through Manyplug

Questions
Workspace or user settings?
.vscode/mcp.json adds Manyplug to one project (and can be shared with the team, the address holds no secret). The install button adds it to your user profile for every project.
Is it free to connect VS Code to Manyplug?
Yes. New workspaces get 14 days of Pro free, then the free plan keeps going with 150 actions a month and up to 3 connected accounts. No card needed. Paid plans start at $5 a month.
Can VS Code use several accounts of the same service?
Yes. Connect each account under its own name, for example Work and Personal. VS Code can use one of them or search all of them at once.
Can VS Code send or delete things without asking me?
Not by default. Risky actions such as sending email or deleting wait for your approval in Manyplug. You can tighten or loosen this per account and per AI app, and loosening always needs your OK.
Does VS Code see my passwords or API keys?
No. Keys are entered on Manyplug’s own pages, stored encrypted with a separate key per account, and the AI only receives tool results.
Checked against the VS Code documentation on November 4, 2026.
