Connect Smartsheet to VS Code

To use Smartsheet in VS Code, connect your Smartsheet account in Manyplug and add Manyplug to VS Code once. VS Code then gets 6 Smartsheet tools, for example: “Sheets”, “Search”, and “Get a sheet”. It takes about 3 minutes and works on the free plan.

1. Connect Smartsheet in Manyplug

Click “Connect Smartsheet” and paste the key or app password into Manyplug’s form:

Click Generate new access token, name it Manyplug and copy it.
Paste the token into the form. EU or Australian account? Pick your region.

The token acts as you and sees the same sheets you do.

2. Add Manyplug to VS Code

GitHub Copilot in agent mode.

Click “Install in VS Code” or add the server to .vscode/mcp.json.

Will VS Code change anything in Smartsheet without asking?

Changes follow your rules: you can make every change in Smartsheet wait for your approval, or let VS Code only read.
