Connect Linear to Claude Code

To use Linear in Claude Code, connect your Linear account in Manyplug and add Manyplug to Claude Code once. Claude Code then gets 7 Linear tools, for example: “Search issues”, “Get an issue”, and “List teams”. It takes about 3 minutes and works on the free plan.

1. Connect Linear in Manyplug

Click “Connect Linear” and paste the key or app password into Manyplug’s form:

A Linear personal API key. Takes about a minute.

Open Linear → Settings → Security & access and click New API key under Personal API keys.Open Linear settings
Name it Manyplug and keep Full access, or pick the teams it may use.
Copy the key (lin_api_…) and paste it into the form.

The key acts as you. You can revoke it on the same page.

2. Add Manyplug to Claude Code

Terminal, VS Code and JetBrains.

Run the command in a terminal.

claude mcp add --transport http --scope user manyplug https://manyplug.com/mcp

Start claude, type /mcp, pick manyplug and sign in in the browser.

Can I connect two Linear accounts to Claude Code?

Yes. Connect each one in Manyplug under its own name, for example Work and Personal. Claude Code can use one of them or all at once.

Will Claude Code change anything in Linear without asking?

By default these actions wait for your approval before they run: “Delete an issue”. Other changes follow your rules, which you can make stricter per account.

Do I need an official Linear MCP server for this?
